Wetzel Field Party!
We having a PAINTING PARTY at the Field on Saturday, July 10th starting at 9:00am.
Rain or Shine, if it’s storming (high winds) Rain Day Sunday, July 11th.
The field shelter needs a new coat of paint as do the tables and stands.
We have the paint, we have the brushes and rollers, now we need YOU!
There will be a 50/50 raffle, and a prize drawing (from excess 50/50 tickets).
As a thank you there will be a surprise gift for all participating members (it’s Awesome).
If you can push a paint roller or swing a brush (not too wildly please) come out for a couple of hours of fun and make the shelter shine.
If you can’t paint to save your life there will be plenty of support work to move things along smoothly, AND we can teach you how to paint!
With 10+ (ten) members helping it should take about two hours, so if you want to fly after we are done, bring a plane.
If you don’t climb ladders or step stools, no worries, there is plenty of ground work.
The club will provide:
Paint (20 gal)
4” Rollers and frames
12” Rollers (we need 4-6 frames)
12” Roller pan liners (we need Metal Pans if you have one(or more) bring them)
3” Brushes (we have 3)
Paint pots (for brushing) we have 3
Drop Cloths
10 ft ladder
1 gal Ziploc bags
Garbage bags for cleanup
Please bring yourself and the following:
Old clothes you don’t mind getting paint on (just in case).
Note: that Harbor freight has painting coveralls for $5-10
An old hat to keep that hairy dome paint free.
Old shoes just in case you drool (oops) drip a bit.
Optional if you have them: (we will need them)
Sweeping broom to reach and clean framework (not push)
Scrub brush to clean table tops and seats (no water just dry brushing)
Paint scrapers to remove loose paint only
A roll of paper towel (just in case we drip)
A short ladder or step stool (3 steps min, unless you are 7 feet tall).
12” roller frame (we need 3-6)
A 12” Metal Roller Pan, we have liners for clean up.
Roller extension pole (one or more).
Your favorite brush (3 inch), we have several but more will be appreciated.
Latex / Nitrile / other gloves, to keep the piggies clean.
2” painters Tape or Masking tape (a few areas need taping (sign frame, elec. Box, wall boxes)).
An airless paint sprayer capable of spraying Latex paint WITHOUT THINNING (for table and flight stand undersides)
Bring what you have, if we have more than we need we just won’t use it.
Since there is no running water at the field clean up will be to toss the rollers, and brushes.
Personal brushes can be put in a ziplock bag (provided) to stay soft until you get home to clean.
Harbor freight has good brushes (3” recommended) for $4.00 that can then be tossed.
